| Hi,
No - it's working as expected. You have entered a valid mail address of
the form
Pretty Name (Mail address)
Since there are no @ or "AT"s in the Mail address, the code will search
for an ALL-IN-1 user name that matches. If there is not an exact match
then a search is made for a name that begins with the string ("TTD" in
your example).
We have recommended for a long time that customers use System Distribution
List names beginning with "@" rather than ending with ":", and this
would help here.
Cheers

| Hi Ching-U,
I remember reading about this sometime ago back in the 2.0 days, when
the addressing formats were changed and NETWORK.DAT was introduced.
Prior to NETWORK.DAT you had PROFILE update, believe me version 1 was a
dog of a system to manage, unlike now.
What Stuart has said is correct and that's the way ALL-IN-1 IOS works.
I cannot find the 2.0 doc set, for 3.0 Mail Mangement Guide page 4-4 or
2-8 for 2.4. I must admit that it does not mention that the "@" is the
perfered choice.
To give you an example, if you enter a valid username the address
displayed is:
Friendly name (ALL-IN-1 IOS ADDRESSING FORMAT or X.400)
You can change the "Friendly name" to whatever you like but not what's
in the "()". What's enclosed in the brakets is used by ALL-IN-1 IOS to
send the mail to user, that's the addressing information.
What I have done sometimes is to enter the username and the address is
displayed. I than over type the "Friendly name" to whatever I like
making sure that the information in the "()" is NOT changed and I send
the message.
So when you entered D(DDT), ALL-IN-1 IOS looked at the information
contained in the "()" and proceeded to process it. It found a match
and displayed the correct username as expected, as Stuart has said that
is how it works.
The above pages that i have mentioned give details of the search order
so I will not discuss the search order. I hope that I have filled in
the gaps left by the documentation.
Regards,
Sunil
