Hi,
Generally SMU and TM events don't get on great. Can you try and SO to
the user as well as SMU and let me know what happens.

3327.2 | Which SMU privs have been granted? | IOSG::COTTINGHAM | | Mon Sep 27 1993 13:20 | 10 |
| Trevor,
Can you also indicate What SMU privilages have been given.
I cannot reproduce this on my V3.0-1 system. I get a suitable error if
SO privs have not been granted. The code appears to do an auto SO if
possible.

Alan

| Hi,
.0 did mention the use of SO :-)
SMU privs granted were READ only.

3327.4 | It still works for me | IOSG::COTTINGHAM | | Mon Sep 27 1993 16:48 | 11 |
| I assume you mean "Process Mail" with no "Send Mail" access. I tried
this but still cannot reproduce the problem on my system. Can you
reproduce this problem on other V3.0-1 machines. If so I will try
further test. I m currently only testing using Manager and User1. and
Scheduling from manager to User1 then replying from User1 and then
using SMU from User1 to manager to read the response. It all works O.K
for me.

3327.5 | | AIMTEC::ZANIEWSKI_D | Why would CSC specialists need training? | Tue Sep 28 1993 00:13 | 8 |
| Hi Alan,
1) Schedule from MANAGER.
2) Respond from USER1.
3) SMU from USER1 to MANAGER should get the error reading the
response.

3327.6 | Please supply steps to reproduce + trace | IOSG::COTTINGHAM | | Tue Sep 28 1993 13:20 | 21 |
| Dave, Trevor,
I have followed the steps in .5 on ALL of out test machines but cannot
reproduce the error indicated in .0
I am obviously missing some vital piece of information.
Please check the SO flag and SO/SMU access for the accounts you are
using. Also indicate if a Memo was attached to the Event notification
or response. I have tried most permutations but must have missed the
combination you are using
Can anyone else reproduce this. If so I think an IPMT case should be
raised. However we need to be able to reproduce it here before we can
hope to investigate the cause.
Could you get a trace when the error occurs and post a pointer or mail
it to me.
Regards
Alan

| Hi,
I have mailed Alan C. an A1trace file of when I
get the error...This time though I did the following to
get it:-
1)From account TALBOT I SMU'd and SO'd to LOAT
2)TM EV C and invited BARHAM (on behalf of LOAT)
3)BARHAM read mail and responded
4)I did II and R and saw the error after reading whilst
still SMU/SO as LOAT.
-Trev
p.s I mailed IOSG::COTTINGHAM hope that o.k.

3327.10 | Please IPMT this | IOSG::COTTINGHAM | | Fri Oct 01 1993 15:53 | 13 |
| I have received the trace and have diagnosed the possible cause of the
problem. It appears that the code attempts to send a new Reply when
the Scheduler is reading a Reply. This fails and the half built reply
is left in the CREATED folder. Did you have a reply left in the
CREATED folder after the error occurred?
I still have not been able to reproduce the error message you are
receiving.
Please submit an SPR / IPMT case
Thanks
Alan
