3322.0. "CDA V1.1 --> CDA V2.0 how" by UTRTSC::SMEETS (Martin, CSC Office support (NL)) Fri Sep 24 1993 14:30

Hi,

A customer with the following software:

ALL-IN-1 V3.0-1
WordPerfect V5.1
WordPerfect/ALL-IN-1 integration V3.??
CDA V1.1
CDA interoperatebility kit V1.4

Wants to upgrade to CDA V2.0

What are the steps to archive this ?

Does the customer need a new license ?

Thanks,

Martin

A dir or a search would show bunches of matches on this particularly
the messy legal rubbish about not letting ALL-IN-1 v3.0 customers
get their hands on CDA 2.0

    there's notes 2821, 1230, 2034, 1542 ... you get the idea!

    Hi,

In Holland we decided that is it cheaper to just let
that handfull of customers install 2.0 (most of them
have CD's) than (re-)start policy/pricing discussions again and again.

    Regards,

    Jan,

I believe part of the problem specifically with CDA V2.0, is that
Digital pay a royalty to a 3rd party for every licence sold. Have you
checked with the product manager (either for ALL-IN-1 or for CDA)
whether your action has contravened whatever agreement is in force.

    Martin.

No. The decision was made by local management. I will inform them
    about the 3rd party royalty.

    Thanks,
