3292.0. "Labels for ALL-IN-1 2.4 kit.Urgent" by ROM01::DESPOSITO () Fri Sep 17 1993 11:58

Sorry,

perhaps it's a silly question, but...

tomorrow I'll go and upgrade to ALL-IN-1 2.4 italian a system that doesn't
have much disk space (it's unusual, don't you think ;-) ).
I'm trying to create the kit on a TK50 and I really must know:

1) If I put the kit all in one TK50, will the installation fail? (Remember,
I have to install directly from TK50)

2) If I must create the four TK50's, will the installation mind also about
the label names of these TK50? And, in this case, which are the correct
label names?

Please, answer to me as soon as possible, because I don't have much time to
create the kit (until this evening!)

Thank you in advance for the quick response

3292.1Sorry, correct labels required...IOSG::PYEGraham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's ApprenticeFri Sep 17 1993 12:438
Yes, you have to get the tape labels right. We check them to make sure
you have loaded the correct tape.

I'd be surprised if you can get all of the kit on one tape. If you can,
then if you give the tape the label A10024, then it *should* work. Note
that this is not a documented or suported way to do things.

OK.

But could you please tell me which are the correct tape labels for all
the four TK50?So I can install in the supported way.

		Thank you

I just read this note, so I hope it's not too late.

If I'm not wrong, there should be a label A10024 for a complete kit on
one TK. Apart from that, I think there was a A11024 label for a TK
containing the A component only, and another A12024 and A13024 for the
B and C component, but I cannot say whether A12024 was for B or C.
If I find out, I let you know.

Well I opened my v2.4 install guide and on page B-3 it says

    A12024 is the Market kit
    A13024 is the Language Kit

A11024 is of course the base kit

    ALL-IN-1 v2.4 only took 3 TK50s so I presume the 4th one your talking
    about is Message Router?

The complete V2.4 kit should easily fit on a TK50. The US English
kit totals ~30MB. As stated before the label should be A10024.

For reference, when multiple tapes are used the labels should be :

    		Base component A1024.% Label A11024
    		Mkt component A1C*024.% Label A12024
    		Lang component A1L*024.%	Label A13024

For ALL-IN-1 V3.0 the labels should be :

    		Base component A1030.% Label A11030
    		Lang & mkt component A1L*030.%	Label A12030
    				      A1C*030.%

    		Addit'l mkt components A1C*030.% Label A12030

    Regards,

    Martin.

Thank you to all.

At last I found enough disk space to install from disk.
But this information will still be useful next time

		Cheers
