3286.0. "Group Services: VMS X ALL-IN-1 username" by VAXSPO::SATO () Thu Sep 16 1993 15:44

    Hi,

Sorry if this subject has already discussed before.
Anyway, any pointer will be very helpfull.

My customer uses Badge number as VMS username and
    "name.surname" as ALL-IN-1 username.

In V3.0 "Group Conferencing" and "Group Services" show
VMS username in fields like Conference Moderator or
Group Owner. And users don't know who is "C123456",
they would like to have that informations in
    "name.surname" format.

I know Group Conferencing has limitations. In case of
remote conference, I can't have informations about
remote moderators, or remote members in the local profile
and I can't even know if they are ALL-IN-1 users.

But, in Group Services, when I'm going to create a group,
I enter members in ALL-IN-1 format. What is the reason for
the group owner be showed as VMS username ?

    I've already customized GS_GROUP_PRINT_FULL.SCP (options
"Read" and "Print") and GS$GROUP_EDIT.FRM (option "Edit").
I see a job not so easy changing GS$INDEX$GROUPS.FRM
    (option "Index").

Does anyone have already changed this GS$INDEX$GROUPS form to
display ALL-IN-1 username instead of VMS username ?

Any help will be very appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Armando

    Hi,

I don't think this has come up before. If you want this fixed in a
future rlease then the earlier you get an SPR in the better.

    Cheers
