Customer has a need to convert ALL-IN-1 created WPSPLUS documents (and ssecondarily, DX documents) to ASCII without having to rely on ALL-IN-1 to do so, i.e. right from VMS. So far, they are kicking around three possible solutions: 1) The callable interface of WPSPLUS/VMS 2) CDA 3) A WPSPLUS Keypak module. They already use the DX-to- WordPerfect Keypak module for another application. This option is rather pricey, and of course, is not Digital's. Two questions: 1) Is CDA a viable option to do this? I don't know much about CDA except what it stands for and that it can be linked into ALL-IN-1. 2) Are there problems running WPSPLUS/VMS and WPSPLUS/ALL-IN-1 on the same system at the same time? Any help or recommendations would be appreciated.... Bob Spangler

1) Is CDA a viable option to do this? I don't know much about CDA except what it stands for and that it can be linked into ALL-IN-1. This should be a viable option. 2) Are there problems running WPSPLUS/VMS and WPSPLUS/ALL-IN-1 on the same system at the same time? No. Both products are designed to run independently of each other. re .0 Sounds like the CDA Converter Library is what the customer needs. This can accept both WPS-PLUS format files, and DX format files, and write out text files. For more info, look in the CDA conference on GALVIA (press KP7 or select to add the CDA conference to your notebook.) Steve. |
