3239.0. "AM CC ( Conflict Checking ): Could not create CM$CART$CONFLICTS$ELEMENTS.DAT" by ZUR01::KURTH (Peter Kurth @RLE, Rmlang (Switzerland)) Mon Sep 06 1993 16:12

Hi

ALL-IN-1 Version 3.0, 3.0-1

An ALL-IN-1 user is set up as Application Maintainer (owns the VMS
identifiers OA$PRVAPP and OA$MANAPP, the profile field PRVAPP is "A"). He
enters AM CC for the Conflict Checking menu, selects a CART id and enters
CC to Check Conflicts. After answering the questions, the following message
is displayed:

	%CART-I-INIT 15:28 Initializing CART environment
	Could not create OASYS$DISK:[ALLIN1.SITE]CM$CART$CONFLICT$ELEMENTS.DAT
	Press RETURN to continue

The ALL-IN-1 Manager can successfully execute the Check Conflicts option.

The script CM_CART_DRIVER.SCP is used to create the file using the statement
"CREATE CM$CART$CONFLICT$ELEMENTS". If this failes, the error message is
displayed. No other error message indicates the cause of the problem.

If the ALL-IN-1 Manager creates the file, it looks like:

	CM$CART$CONFLICT$ELEMENTS.DAT;1
                     [ALLIN1]       (RWED,RWED,RE,)
          (IDENTIFIER=OA$MANAPP,ACCESS=READ+WRITE+EXECUTE+DELETE)

The file owner has to have a valid diskquota entry.

Add a diskquota entry for the Application Maintainer on the disk where the
directory [ALLIN1.SITE] is located:

	DISKQ>USE device
	DISKQ>ADD application_maintainer /PERM=20000 /OVER=2000
	DISKQ>SHOW application_maintainer
	UIC [application_maintainer] has 0 blocks used
	of 2000 authorized, 2000 permitted overdraft.

Is this a known problem?

Any better solution?

Thanks and regards, Peter

3239.1Add entry for OA$MANAPP?IOSG::BILSBOROUGHSWBFSMon Sep 06 1993 17:397

    At a guess, you might be able to add an entry for OA$MANAPP on the
    disk. Then the file might get owned by OA$MANAPP.

3239.2OA$MANAPP is already in DiskquotaZUR01::KURTHPeter Kurth @RLE, Rmlang (Switzerland)Tue Sep 07 1993 09:348
	Hi

	Both identifiers OA$MANAPP and OA$PRVAPP have aleady an entry in
	Diskquota. The file does not use OA$MANAPP when creating the file.

	Should I SPR this problem?

	Regards, Peter
3239.3Yes I think it's SPR timeAIMTEC::WICKS_AU.S.A 2 England 0 - I was there!Tue Sep 07 1993 18:3413
    peter,

    what I think you're saying is that the user i.e WICKS_A has to have
    diskquota on the disk that [ALLIN1.SITE] exists in order to run AM CC
    (I wonder why since this doesn't make sense to me)

    If this is right then it's not known to us (i.e in STARS) so unless
    Mike already knows about it then yes please submit an SPR.

    Regards,
