3228.0. "TM customization qtn" by ZPOVC::WENDYLAI (YSL) Thu Sep 02 1993 16:45
Hi,
following may sound trivial but with little experience in TM customization,
I hope someone can shed light on it.
My customer wants to update the time management calendar based on job assignment
data generated from another system. By using the CALENDAR functions, is it
possible to achieve the following :
1. Based on the job assignment data, a batch job is run to schedule
meeting/appointments with mail notification sent to the officer(s)
involved. By responding to the mail, officer(s) would choose to/not
to update his calander.
2. Re-schedule meeting/appointments with mail notification sent to the
officer(s). This is also done in batch mode.
If yes, then,
1. Can I rely on the CALENDAR SCHEDULE function to update the corresponding
data sets, namely CAL$CALENDAR, CAL$MEETING AND CAL$ATTENDEE ?
2. When scheduling meeting non-interactively using CAL SCHEDULE MEETING,
how to create the CAL$SCROLL$ATTENDEES and the meesage text in order to
send out the meeting notifcation ?
Thanks.
- Wendy.

| This can be done with a large amount of patience. Migrate the
customer to version 3.0 of ALL-IN-1 first. A version 2.4
application will not easily migrate to version 3.0, due to all the
function changes.

Hi Dave,
thanks for your reply.
<< Migrate the
<< customer to version 3.0 of ALL-IN-1 first. A version 2.4
<< application will not easily migrate to version 3.0, due to all the
<< function changes.
Chances to upgrade now is slim because they want it ASAP, in fact they
want it by mid September. But if it is much easier to do in Version 3.0
of it is only doable in V3 then it is another question.
<< This can be done with a large amount of patience.
Does it mean the CALANDER functions cannot be used to automate the
upload process ?
Can you or anyone elaborate more in how it can be done ? Since the
customer want it done ASAP, I need to know the feasibility and the
effort required.
Need your help.
Thanks.
- Wendy.
