3222.0. "Unable to Locate Personal.lgp (spell checker)" by FSOA::CKELLEHER () Wed Sep 01 1993 17:55

    I have a customer that is having problems when using the spell checker.
    Everytime she tried to use it, it gives her an error message:

     unable to locate [.doc0]personal.lgp

    However, this file does exist. After she has run the spell checker for
    the first time within the document, as long as she doesn't exit the
    document, when she runs the spell checker again, it does not give her
    the error message.

    If she exits the document and tries to run the spell checker she will
    get the same error message. This is quite annoying. Does anyone have
    any suggestions as to how I can fix this problem.

    Thanks

    Cheryl

    1 user (so far) at my customer site is reporting the same problem.
    we have copied his persoanl dictionary to anyother folder and deleted
    the original with the same results in .0.

    one thing i did notice is that in the current item block , the title of
    the dictionary in his account is AMERICAN PERSONAL - not PERSONAL .
    the master dictionary is AMERICAN and the folder is ENGLISH
    DICTIONARIES .

3222.2List Open Dictionary errorFSOA::CKELLEHERTue Sep 07 1993 17:5313
    Hello Ann,

    Another thing that I have no ticed, is that wehn you go into Dictionary
    Maintenance and choose the List Open dictionary option. Two
    dictionaries are listed, however, one of the dictionaries does not
    even exist on the account. I don't know where is is pulling this
    information from, but, it appears to be incorrect. When I try to close
    the one that should not be open, it gives me an error unable to close a
    personal dictionary.

    Take care

3222.3Answer to Personal Dictionary ProblemMROA::CKELLEHERTue Sep 14 1993 16:0223
    Hi Ann,

    Here's the solution to my problem with the Personal dictionary. Follow
    the following steps:

    - At DCL copy Personal.LGP to Words.dat
    - Go into Dictionary Maintenance within ALL-IN-1 and Delete the
    Personal and International dictionaries
    - Empty the Wastebasket
    - At DCL delete WPL_Lang.dat and WPL_dicts.dat
    - At DCL delete CMDRECOG.DAT
    - Rename Username.pst to username.old
    - Exit ALL-IN-1
    - Reenter ALL-IN-1
    - Go into Ditionary Maintenance menu and it will update your
    dictionaries
    - Go to DCL and rename Words.dat to Personal.lgp

    Hope this helps!

    Take care

    Cheryl
