3176.0. "Different field length used on PT_TYPE&PT_DESCRIPTION" by GIDDAY::LEH () Mon Aug 23 1993 04:30

IOS 3.0

Any reason why field lengths of same fields are different in 2 different forms

    Form   SMPRINTERTYPES                    | Len | Row | Col | Posn | Set
    Field:  PT_TYPE                          |  30 |   3 |  29 |    0 |  0
    Field:  PT_DESCRIPTION                   |  50 |   5 |  29 |   30 |  0

    Form   PRINT_SETTINGS                    | Len | Row | Col | Posn | Set
    Field:  PT_TYPE                          |  31 |   3 |  28 |    0 |  0
    Field:  PT_DESCRIPTION                   |  51 |   4 |  28 |  185 |  0

Their usual values are, say LN03 for PT_TYPE and Generic LN03 printer for
PT_DESCRIPTION

    Hi Hong,

    I don't think so. It's interesting to note that in the PFR the field
    PT_DESCRIPTION is now length 50 on form PRINT_SETTINGS, so one of the
    discrepancies has gone.

    Is this a problem for your customer?

    Cheers

    Stuart
