3129.0. "DA Housekeeping procedure problem" by OSLACT::BJARNEC_P (The last boat left without me .....) Wed Aug 11 1993 16:35

    Hi,

    ALL-IN-1 V2.4

One of our customers has reported a problem (?) with the Housekeeping
procedure DA (Delete Old Mail Addresses). Basically, nothing is ever
deleted from NETWORK.DAT when they run this procedure. Apparently it
has not worked since they upgraded from V2.3 to 2.4. I am not quite
sure what criterias the procedure needs in order to remove entries in
the NETWORK.DAT file, but I have run some tests on an ALL-IN-1 system
(V3.0, right enough) in the office and have not managed to remove any
    entries either.

I have played around with changing both the Mnode: and the Deleted:
flags back and forward between "Y" and "N" in the NETWORK Profile
without having any luck at all deleting the entries when I later run
    DA.

The log file does not give any indication why the record is not removed
from the NETWORK.DAT file. I have included a log file from the tests
that i have done in the next reply. I realize that there are several
other topics in this notes conference (1254, 2199, 2464 etc.), but I
can not seem to get any of the suggestions to work. For instance, I
tried to delete the NETWORK.DAT file and then recreating it using
<DO OA$LIB:SMNETINIT and then run the UA Housekeeping procedure option.
This did not work and I do, therefore, no longer have a NETWORK.DAT
    file.

    Any ideas?

Hi,

I've taken over the job and have found out this:

in the log file the line "delete entries dated before" returns just
14 , this is the same both before and after the start article.

So is there anyone who have seen a simular behaviour ????, i'm lost.

Now look at the article titled "Delete Address Procedure Not Using Deletion
Criteria Specified". I think it matches the problem you are now experiencing.
