3076.0. "Patch for auto-hyphenation?" by MLNTSC::DALPORTO () Tue Jul 27 1993 17:54

Hello,

Is it there a patch to make auto hyphenation working in ALL-IN-1 3.0?

I am talking about the auto hyphenation on a selected block of text while
the user is editing the document (as it was in ALL-IN-1 v2.3)?
The rumor about such a patch is coming from the WPS-PLUS conference.

Thanks for your help.

    Hi,

           4 PROBLEMS FIXED BY THIS PATCH

           4.1 It is no longer possible to automatically hyphenate a document
                while editing it. This functionality was retired in WPS-PLUS
                V4.1 (as shipped with ALL-IN-1 V3.0). This patch has
                re-introduced this functionality for the following supported
                languages: Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian,
                Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish.

    Regards,

Hi,

Thank you Jan, I got A1_FIX007030 and read the release notes and now I am less
happy than before.

I understood that "auto-hyphenation" while editing a document is not available;
such features should not be very meaningful because the final formatting
depends on the device on witch the document will be printed. Well, in all
systems I have seen, the auto-hyphenation doesn't works even when printing the
document (either on the screen or on a printer).

Let's now suppose all working as wanted, how can the auto-hyphenation be
enabled?

The hyphenation zone is defined in the ruler, the HY_FLD field set to Y or N
and HC_FLD set to Y or N in every combination, and printing the document
nothing is hyphenated.

What am I missing? is the above a problem also fixed by A1_FIX007030?

Thank you very much for your help.
