Hello, I am currently helping a customer to plan a upgrade IOS V2.4 to V3.0. To make sure that we have plenty of time to test the system, we decided to do as much prep as we can before the weekend. We are planning to upgrade NOTES, FMS and CDA during the week. Upgrade MR at one weekend and upgrade IOS the next. What I would like to know is whether we can use the upgraded NOTES, FMS, CDA and MR with IOS V2.4. Will we get any problems? Do I need to relink IOS image after each upgrade? thanks & regards, Sau Ha

Sau Ha, Relinking is a good idea anyway even if it isn't absolutely necessary. Let's say you upgrade all 4 without relinking and then the install fails (not that a v3.0 install would ever do such a thing) it might be more difficult to troubleshoot if you didn't know when it last definitely worked. bear in mind that NOTES is the only one for which you have to do a relink in theory since a) ALL-IN-1 does not link against MR as such it just calls whatever is there - you can go to 3.1 to 3.2 transparently. b) CDA isn't a link question - it's sort of defined at install time but a look at the ALL-IN-1 link files should give you a clue about how to encourage ALL-IN-1 to see the new CDA c) FMS is also not linked against ALL-IN-1 but what are you upgrading didn't v2.4 and v3.0 have the same FMS version regards, Andrew.D.wicks |
