3034.0. "Printing from the CM sub-system problems" by GIDDAY::SETHI (Ahhhh (-: an upside down smile from OZ) Wed Jul 21 1993 03:11
Hi All,
I have had a couple of replies to this topic in the WPS-PLUS conference
that have helped solve a problem. However I still have problems with
the CM sub-system and this is what I would like to discuss.
In addition to the information provided below I would like to add the
following about printing from CM:
1. If the Lines per page is set to 66 and the Top and Bottom margins
are set to 0 and Remove blank lines at top of page "Y". The bottom
line has the tops of characters printed.
2. If the lines per page is changed to 65 than an extra line is added
and two lines are lost per page.
I am enclosing the note posted in the WPS-PLUS conference below. Also
I would like to add that the customer has WordPerfect installed and
integrated. Even if the editor of choice is WPS-PLUS it makes no
difference.
I tried printing with the default settings on my system non-WPC and I
got the same results, in that the top margin seems to be about 10, and
the PG option has it set to 5.
The customer is not too happy as this wastes paper and being the
Environmental Protection Authority, they want to be seen as doing their
bit.
Is there away to overcome this problem, apart from having to change the
printer setting all the time, you are still left with the loss of
lines.
Could someone give me a hand to green ALL-IN-1 at the EPA site :-).
Regards,
Sunil

Hi All,
A customer has ALL-IN-1 IOS 3.0 installed and is printing to an LPS20
print server (I have tested this on other PostScript printers).
The customer is in Customisation Management System and print's an
element but changes the print settings (PG). Lines per page 66, Top
and Bottom margin 0 and Remove blank lines at top of page "Y".
The customer select's the option P Print and save current settings, the
settings aren't saved. When he tries to print again the old settings
are present. I also tried this from the Word and Document processing
sub-system and the same happens.
Is this a known problem ? Is there a workaround ?
Regards,
Sunil

| G'day All,
I have SPR'd this problem priority 4. The customer was getting a bit
irritated having to change the printer settings each time they wanted
to print from the CM sub-system.

Sunil
