| Which times are you talking about? There's the ALL-IN-1 time, which you'll get
by typing TIME at a menu. And then there are all the times put on mail
messages and documents.
It's possible to set up either of the configurations you asked for, so
something's not working.

The customer is interested in all times within ALL-IN-1 showing
consistently to the user including time stamps on messages, etc.
whether it be GMT or the users own time zone.

| Well, as Andy says, note 1101 has instructions on making sure your dates and
times on mail messages are correct - set the time zones on all your
systems.
And I imagine ALL-IN-1 gets its current time from VMS - so make sure your
system time service is working; if you're using DTSS, make sure the times are
set to be adjusted automatically when summertime starts and ends, and again
check that the differences from GMT are specified

1101 gives instructions for setting time zones when there are multiple
nodes. That doesn't help my situation any.
Maybe I haven't been clear enough. Let me try again. We have one
node, located in Dayton, Ohio (EST). The users are connecting from all
over the world. We want the users to see all times (mail message
headers, etc.) in either their own time zone or in GMT.
For GMT, I can set the time zone to GMT, but in order to actually use
GMT, my VMS system must be set to GMT time. This can be confusing for
general system management, etc.
For the users to see times in their own time zone, there would have to
be some way to distinguish who was in what time zone and adjust the
times accordingly.
I still don't see a solution.

I believe all IOS times are stored in NBS format. I also believe
that NBS format includes an offset from GMT. If true then this should
be easy to do, since the local system should know its offset from
GMT. Exactly how one would customize IOS to do this, well I don't
know anything about that.

Sorry - NBS times do not reference GMT.
But you could produce a customization which would add/subtract a time
difference on a per user basis. Anyone volunteering for this? :-)

| This has been asked for before, and there's nothing in the base to
support the single node case where people are connected from different
time zones.
It would probably be a quite extensive customisation. You'd also have
to think hard about how you wanted it to look - Should mesage posting
times be shown in the sender's time zone, or converted to local time,
etc.
Time Management would be an interesting challenge if you used it.
