2915.0. "Customer's dream come true, well done ATEAM :-) !!!" by TINNIE::SETHI (Ahhhh (-: an upside down smile from OZ) Fri Jun 25 1993 07:06

    G'day All,

I hope that the following EM sent to us by one of our largest customers
in terms of "$" value will cheer all of you up :-) !!! All I will add
is that we all know how good ALL-IN-1 engineering is and this confirms
it all not that we needed too !!!

    Well done team,

    Sunil

PS - We are going to hopefully send this to the ALL-IN-1 product
    manager.

    	     		**** Customer EM ****

I congratulate Digital on the efforts they have put into ALL-IN-1 V3.0.
Although we are yet to go live on our major systems on which we
currently have over 2,000 subscribers, experience so far indicates that the
quality of the product is very good and the installation procedure for the
product has been raised to a very high standard.

The real crunch from my perspective is in revising all of our site
customisation. In the past, this has been an area neglected by
Digital, leaving the ALL-IN-1 programmer to fumble his way through. The
tools now provided by Digital, the Conflict and Resolution Tool in
particular, have enabled this revision to be carried out much quicker than
we have been able to do in the past. The expected nightmare of revising
our substantial customisation has turned out to be almost a dream.

I am impressed by the efforts of Digital's ALL-IN-1 engineering team
    and very appreciative.

    Hi All,

The customer has upgraded one of his nodes and has been soo impressed
this is what he said via DSINlink notes in the call notes:

    ** Service Request via DSNlink ** (ALLIN1 )

Please add your additional comments below.

We upgraded one of our clusters to ALL-IN-1 V3.0 last weekend. The
upgrade was quite smooth with no problems of any great significance.
Digital has done well with its efforts in V3.0. We may be seeking support
after hours for the weekend of the 4th September when we upgrade our major
cluster. - more details later on that.

    +++++

When I finished helping him with a 3.0 question, he made sure I had
read his remarks. Because of your efforts we are winning new business
and this particular customer is certainly impressed. I will add that
they do have a hightly customised system and had SFCP installed.

My manager will be sending a copy to the powers that be. Thanks all
concerned for all your efforts and thought that went into planning
    ALL-IN-1 IOS 3.0.

    Regards,

2915.5Feedback on the MUPAGIDDAY::SETHIOh what a feeling .....Sun Feb 27 1994 23:1116
    Hi All,

Just to continue the good news. A customer has just upgraded to
version 3.0A and he is very impressed by the quality of the upgrade
procedures and the CART. A number of customers have also remarked upon
the high standards that engineering have risen to and would like to
congratulate you all. He also stated that upgrades are so much easier
    now days.

Apart from the one problem that was caused by WordPerfect because it
had placed the SITELINK.COM in the sources_shared directory it should
have been in SOURCES_LLV. So watch out for this little catch.

    Regards,

    Sunil

I just upgraded a large OpenVMS cluster this past week-end, and I very
enthusiastically second the sentiments in .-1 I have suffered through
many iterations of ALL-IN-1 upgrades over the past several years and it
is very encouraging to note the quality!! A hearty "Well Done" to all
    involved!
2915.7Continuing success of IOSGIDDAY::SETHIBetter to ask a question than remain ignorantFri May 27 1994 06:1524
    Hi All,

Continuing with the good news stories. I attended a local meeting and
it was mentioned that ALL-IN-1 IOS has had new life breathed into it,
since IOS was serverised. It would appear an number of our established
customers are staying with IOS and new customers are buying the IOS
server and TeamLinks mainly this is happening in Europe.

This "Old" product has two main advantage and that is it's vintage and
it's robustness, in other words people "trust" ALL-IN-1 IOS. Which
translates into they really do appreciate the dedication and hard work
of engineers and all who support the product.

Digital has made a wise move in that they haven't put IOS on the
side lines. As long as our customer have this feeling we will hold
onto our customer base, otherwise we will be opening up new
opportunities for our competitors to gain a share of our market. What
has been great is Digitals foresight in that we gave away the TLC and
have a GUI interface. Digital needs to reinforce this by making our
customers aware of this fact and we are doing just that here in SPT.

Keep up the good work in IOSland,

    Sunil

Sunil,

After all the (unwarranted) IOSG-bashing in this and other ALL-IN-1 conferences
in the last couple of weeks, it's very pleasing to read your note. Thanks.
