2900.0. "ALL-IN-1 to MAILWORKS migration" by YUPPY::DEWINTER (What shall I do next?) Tue Jun 22 1993 15:48

    Is it possible to very easy move messages from the ALL-IN-1 file
    cabinet to the MAILWORKS (correct spelling?) environment?

    Has anybody dealt with a problem like this before?

    Thanks for any help.

    Arjen

    p.s. I hope I haven't overlooked any notes already discussing this
    problem.

    Dear Arjen,

    	I've had to solve the same 'problem' a couple of weeks or months.
    The 'best' (easiest) solution was to write a script (or a UDP)
    selecting all neccessary documents and sending via mail to DEC
    MAILworks. (USER@AM@MRGATE).

    Because DEC MAILworks has it's own 'CabinetStructure' (e.g. mail.x4m)
    and has nothing equal with the ALL-IN-1 IOS cabinet.

    Or --> Use TeamLinks!!!

    Hhhhmmm, that's what I've done. Maybe there's a better way to do this.

    Kind regards

    Drag and drop (using TeamLinks) is the easiest way to move messages
    from IOS to a MAILworks drawer. Of course, because MAILworks has its
    own set of FC attributes, not all of which are the same or even similar
    to IOS, a moderate amount of disruption (or brain surgery) takes place
    before the target FC is happy to accept the incoming messages.

    You might (also) want to check out ASIAGO::TEAMLINKS_MIGRATION.SAV (try
    nodes TEMPRA or THEMA if ASIAGO is playing up) and see the TMLLOAD
    program that's included in the saveset.

    Hi Arjen,

    >MAILWORKS (correct spelling?)

    DEC MAILworks and they called it DEC MAILworks because it didn't work
    before but it sure does now ;^) !!!

    Regards,

    Thanks Tony,

    The only problem is that they don't have TeamLinks! I'll try and sell
    it to them shall I?

    Sunil,

    Thanks! I wish though that we would become more consistent with our
    naming conventions, I can't really keep up with all these different
    spelling!!!!!
