2886.0. "TRM running 24 hours - log files show zilch.." by TAV02::CHAIM (Semper ubi Sub ubi .....) Sun Jun 20 1993 07:28

A customer running ALL-IN-1 V2.4 has attempted running tRM for the first time
ever (after several years). It ran for 24 hours and had to be manually aborted.
The log files do not show any apparent errors nor any indication as to what was
actually being done.

Thanks,

Cb.

    Have all the V2.4 patches been applied?

    If it hasn't been run for a long time, I recommend that the for the
    first run(s) you turn off body file checking. It'll have enough other
    work to keep it busy.

    Cheers

That's precisely what I have done. Awaiting results from the custmer.

2886.3Beware the V2.3 patched versionIOSG::MAURICENight rolls in, my dark companionMon Jun 21 1993 12:267
    One other trap to look for - do a $dir/dat of oa$sm_fcvr.exe. There is a
    problem that if the customer upgraded from a V2.3 patched system, then
    it may be running the patched V2.3 version.

    Cheers

2886.4Using wrong oa$sm_fcvr.exeTAV02::CHAIMSemper ubi Sub ubi .....Tue Jun 22 1993 15:2216
As well that ends well.

A careful investigation showed that there was a copy of
oa$sm_fcvr.exe in the oa$site_lib_llv directory.

This version was evidently the version from the original installation,
at leaset the creation date indiates this. A version with
a ceation date which corresponds to when the patches were
applied was found in oa$lib_share.

After getting rid of the version in oa$site_lib_llv, all seems
to function properly.

Thanks for all the assistance.
