| Ann,
I will start this mess.
Is the *hit* for metering a perception? I had/have worked with
customers on setting up metering on large clusters, etc.. and
in all cases, what LITTLE hit there was, was more than worth
the information gathered.
My KEYpak knowledge is nothing but, that never stopped me! I
believe it is accessed through different menu's. I also understand
it changes your search order(s). These would be perfect places to
capture the user name, etc.. and write it out.
HTH,

| hi tim...
well, i know nothing about metering - except that someone told me that
there are permformance hits when its used. but i won't let that stop
me. if metering is the way to go...
i'll read up on metering too (it might not be as bad as i think).
KEYpak is accessed from ALL-IN-1 menus. the file search order is
changed in our oa$ini.scp. the KEYpak FLB is opened before siteoaform.

how would i do this?
thanks - ann

| Ann,
I think you would want to capture info from the menu (actual usage)
versus initialization (oaini.scp) for everyone. Unless only those
involved with KEYpak have an oaini.
Determine what you want to capture, user name, etc..
Look at the WP, EM forms, etc.. for some good examples. I can also
fax you some information from the v2.4 level II programming course.
(not on-line: send me mail - AIMTEC::BUTLER_T)
Also, check STARS: A1 Info Update: Programming an Application for
Performance .
