Hello, What is the maximum length for the electronic mail adress? I would like to know the exact length in 2.4, 3.0 and if there are any exceptions!? Regards, /*ANNA*

Anna, Can you be a bit more precise with the question? Addresses can be supplied in various ways and in different subsystems. A lot of work has gone into removing ALL of the possible restrictions, but there ar still limits on how much you can type into an FMS form for instance. Basically, I think the actual limit is probably 2000 (maximum length of a DAF attribute?), but there will be smaller limits elsewhere I suspect. grahame

anna, as always check STARS which contains at least one excellent article on the restrictions in address lengths for nicknames, network.dat etc regards, Andrew.D.Wicks

Hello, =>Don't forget STARS? I did find som really good articles in STARS thanks. The main interest is the maximum bytes in mailaddr and emdaddress? They have different sizes depening on version so that is of interest too. Happy Midsummer, /*ANNA* |
