When user tries to print index using PS print style, the top
margin is too large and there will be 3 lines only on the next page
and an other page with large top margin and so on.
Thanks

| Not sure if this is of any help, but what is your PG Page length
set to? Don't forget that when printing with PS, postscript is
measured from the bottom of the page up, so if you have a page length
of 63 and a vertical pitch of 6, postscript thinks the page length is
10.5 inches long. Measure 10.5 inches from the bottom of the page and
this leaves quite a large top margin.
If this is the problem, make the page length about 69.
Does that help?

2808.4 | OA$PAGE_LENGTH | IOSG::NEWLAND | Richard Newland, IOSG, REO2-G/L2 | Wed Jun 16 1993 17:47 | 38 |
| The sequence of events when you do a PI and print to a PostScript
destination is:
1. The PI option uses MERGE to create a formatted ASCII file. The page
length of the formatted pages is controlled by the OA$PAGE_LENGTH
symbol, which has a default value of 57. The pages are separated
by form-feed characters.
2. The ASCII file is printed to a PostScript destination. The
printing sub-system examines the type of the file and the printer
destination to determine how the file should be formatted. For
ASCII formatting ALL-IN-1 normally uses the ALL-IN-1 ASCII
formatter, but because this does not support PostScript output it
instead uses the WPS-PLUS formatter to create PostScript output.
Because the WPS-PLUS formatter is reading an ASCII file it defaults
the Page size to 66, Top Margin to 6 and Bottom margin to 6, which
leaves 54 lines for the page contents. The 57 line pages do not
fit into the 54 lines available and therefore 3 lines overflow onto
the following page.
The same problem would occur if you printed to a non PostScript
printer and your system has been configured to format ASCII
documents with the WPS-PLUS formatter. Your system does not appear
to be configured that way.
One way to fix the problem is to set OA$PAGE_LENGTH to 54 lines, which
could be done by putting
.fx get OA$PAGE_LENGTH = 54
into the OAINI.SCP file.

2808.10 | Still doesn't work | CROCKE::YUEN | Banquo Yuen, Darwin Australia | Thu Mar 24 1994 08:16 | 28 |
| I have installed this A1_FIX012030, but the top margin still the same,
excessively large. I have done everything according to the release
note. I have checked the vertical adjustment is 21 in the new PS.PRA.
We have A1_ECO001030 and A1_MUPA030 installed before.
??? What could be the reason why the PS formatting still doen't work?
Moreover I found that A1_MUPA030 has updated the following files which
A1_FIX012030 will update them as well.
A1WPSPLS.PS X
DECLASER.PRA
DECLSRA4.PRA X
LN03.PRA
LN03A4.PRA X
WPSPLUS.PS
And the A1_FIX012030 and A1_MUPA030 provide different files which
marked by 'X' in the above list.
The A1_FIX012030 release note said that it is independent with
A1_MUPA030.
??? So what version of the above 'X' files should I retain?
Thanks
