2767.0. "Message Attachments when mailed looses DATE RECIEVED attrib." by BIGTOY::ROGERSD (Rorey Davenport lives) Fri May 28 1993 00:31

I have a customer using Message Router v3.2 and ALL-IN-1
v3.0-1. When sending remote mail through message router,
the mail arrives at the destination node OK. But if the
receiver of this mail creates and sends a new message to
another remote node (through Message Router) and
attaches the original when it arrives at the remote node
the attachment looses its DATE RECIEVED attribute....

The path is as follows:

...Create message #1 in ALL-IN-1 send to USER_X@A1@NODE_A

Message #1 delivered to USER_X, USER_X creates new
message #2 and attaches message #1 and then sends to
USER_Y@A1@NODE_B

Then USER_Y receives this message and FILES ATTACHMENT,
then a SHOW HEADER of this message show the field
DATE RECIEVED is no longer there...

This is a Government site and due to rules and regulations
this attribute must be kept. Can anyone help.

This note is cross posted in the MAILBUS conference

    darrin,

tried FAM - File Attachment as Message

FA creates a document which by definition isn't a mail message
and can't have date received, posted etc...
