2723.1A1SVC012 adds ALL-IN-1 V3 supportIOSG::COOKALL-IN-1 Support Manager 830 3636Tue May 18 1993 12:564
    Its essentially a bug-fix release - but adds support for ALL-IN-1 V3.0
    and ALL-IN-1 STARTER V3.0.

    Martin.
2723.2Here it works fineTAV02::SHAPIRAMon Aug 30 1993 17:218
>    Can someone confirm -1?  Ie. does 1.2 support ALL-IN-1 IOS V3.0-1?

     I can't give you any official statement, but here we use the V1.2 server
with V3.0-1 and we didn't find any problems so far with that combination.

FWIW,

2723.3YES V3.0-1 & OPenVMS V6.0 are supportedIOSG::COOKALL-IN-1 Support Manager 830 3636Wed Sep 15 1993 12:1731

    ALL-IN-1 DESKtop Server for OpenVMS V1.2 has been formally certified on
    OpenVMS V6.0 (completed 27-APR-93).

    As for the V3.0-1 [DEC standard 204-compliant "ECO"] patch -

    1) There are no formal requirements to 'certify' versions of Layered
    Products on Engineering Change Order (ECO) or Individual Customer Fix
    (ICF) patch kits. Ie we just 'patched' some modules - so it would be
    considered a fairly catastrophic disaster if we broke some OpenVMS
    compliance.

    Therefore V3.0-1 is supported - by DESKtop server.
    (no cert. neccessary)

    Mandatory Update Patch kits (MUP's) would however require certification
    - but even this is likely to be fairly minimal and token testing.

    NOTE: do not take this that ANY product that supports V3.0 will instal,
    IVP and work successfully on an "ECO" or "MUP" patch. I have seen
    examples of LP installation procedures that do not 'understand' the
    revised image header id of "V3.0-1" and are thence 'broken' by any
    patch that updates image header ID field. [Eg installations of LLV
    kits!]

    Thanks Graham for the prompt.
