2711.0. "Using MAIDES for TeamLinks..." by WOTVAX::64354::Doran (I like traffic lights) Thu May 13 1993 13:26

I have a question about mail destinations...

I would like to set up an ALL-IN-1 IOS user so that standard mail messages
got to TeamLinks, but diary events go to ALL-IN-1 IOS.

I set up TEAMLINKS.COM and TEAMLINKS.CMU which work fine for the standard
messages. The problem is picking up diary events - I can identify them, but
how do I make them go to ALL-IN-1 IOS instead of TeamLinks.

Or is this not possible...?

Before you ask why I'm doing this, or tell me that TeamLinks V2.0 will get
round the problem, I have my reasons...;^)

Cheers,

Andy

2711.2Autoforward is the way....?WOTVAX::DORANAConfuse-a-cat LtdSat May 15 1993 14:4913
    Andrew - or anyone...

    Using Autoforward appears to do what I want anyway... I have set an
    autoforward on the IOS account to be DORANA@AM. As expected, this sends
    all my mail to my TeamLinks account.

    Rather unexpectedly, TM messages still go to my IOS account (as I'd
    noticed do SUBSCRIBERS: messages...). This as I've said is essentially
    what I was after - but I would like to know why this happens?

    Cheers,

2711.3Why unexpectedly?AIMTEC::WICKS_AAlphatraz - Coming Summer 93Sun May 16 1993 19:1820
    ANDY,

    This is the way auto-forward has worked (was designed) since ALL-IN-1
    v2.0 and it has been discussed oh i'd say at least 1,000 times in this
    notes file.

    SUBSCRIBERS: was discussed only last week - it delivers mail only
    to your physically located local ALL-IN-1 system.

    TM event notices aren't redirected either since otherwise the poor old
    BLISS code would be confused as to why the person who replied to the
    event wasn't the person who it invited!

    One final bit of advice include the node-name in your autoforward
    address i.e DORANA@AM@AMnode as it makes replies and various other
    things work a lot better.

    Regards,
