| Tim,
What I meant to say in the P.S to .3 and forgot to add is of course that the
customer in question is in fact running an unsupported language version
of ALL-IN-1 in the U.S - I don't know if it's relevant but I thought i'd
mention it.
P.S and looking at the old code stuff it wouldn't be a waste of time
asking him what disk controller he's running (yes that old
chestnut)

| Thanks - I will check the controller. Below is what I have received
from them thus far.
System ASNF01 is a VAX 4000-300 running VMS V5.5-2.
(HW Ver=00D30000000000000B000006, SID=0B000006, XSID=01340401,
DSN=V1.2)
It is still sitting in the LEF state with only nominal changes in the
CPU time used and it shows the current file/application as being:
ANYK08$DUA2:[ALLIN1.LIB_SHARE]OA$MAIN.EXE
In case it makes any difference, other items showing on the show
proc/cont
screen include:PC=7FFEE46A, PSL=03C00004, USER SP=7FF1F308,
EVENT FLAGS=60200000 & E0000000. The working set is 1898 and the
virtual pages are 10336. I still have not been able to figure out what
it
is waiting for.
From the log file, which I will also send, it seems that it stopped at
the point of creating the CM files.
Command he is using for batch run:
! A1030_CART_BATCH.COM
$!
$ SET DEFAULT SYS$UPDATE
$!
$ IF (F$MODE() .NES. "INTERACTIVE") THEN GOTO SKIPSUB
$SKIPSUB:
$!
$ @SYS$UPDATE:VMSINSTAL A1030 SFCD:[A1030.KIT] OPTIONS
I,A,AWD=ANYK08$DUA1:
$!
Output from the log file:

| I am still trying to get this guy to open up the save set and start
tracing. He is starting to get the idea, see below.
Anyway, here is a quick question that may jog someones memory and get it
down to a specific script or command file.
I am suspecting though that there is a point in the process early on where
it tries to run A1, ie: I see it run oa$main on the sho proc, and at that
point something in the process needs something that would be there for an
interactive process that is not there for a batch process. It could be a
logical or a symbol or something else. It might be related to the process
mailbox.
Thanks,
Tim

| Tim,
i can see exactly where it runs up ALL-IN-1 and what it does thereafter
opens form-libraries, calls two scripts - in fact the files should
still be out there on the machine we have the v3.0 savesets on.
I didn't see anything weird going on - which is why i asked about
the disk controllers - the message he's seeing is very early on
in the second of the scripts (CM_CART_DRIVER).
