2695.0. "V2.4: Usertransfer failed. Restore old mails???" by ZUR01::BURKHALTER () Tue May 11 1993 14:58
A customer has the following problem:
After an unsuccesfull usertransfer from ALL-IN-1 V2.4 to ALL-IN-1 V2.3
the customer restored the useraccount from a "VMS"-saveset created before
the transfer. Customer prepared the account for transfer (PAT) and tried to
move it over the network (MAN) but the MAN option failed. As the customer
says the CTN option (Cancel transfer by network) also failed, so he
restored the account as described above.
This user now works for about three weeks on his old restored account.
In the users DOCDB.DAT now are several entries for mails in OA$SHARE
but most of the message files and SDAF entries were deleted (unshared)
by the PAT (Prepare account for transfer) option.
My question:
Is it possible to restore the missing files to OA$SHARE, restore the old
SDAF.DAT (before transfer) to a dummy file, find the corresponding SDAF
entries from the entries in DOCDB.DAT and write the found entries in the new
(live) SDAF.DAT. IF yes how can it be done?
Is there another way to restore the old state?
Thanks in advance for any help
Rolf
