2690.1 | sounds like some prob with Manager a/c | IOSG::TYLDESLEY | | Tue May 11 1993 11:09 | 24 |
| Valeria,
It's difficult without logging in, to know what's happening here, but
perhaps you can look into a few things. The fact that Hkpg jobs are
failing to be submitted sounds like there's something wrong with your
manager account setup (which may also be causing the first problem).
For starters, check:
1. Job Services - what state did the job fail in? it probably worked,
and there was a failure to send mail that PRVAPP had been switched
(CM_SM_EDIT_SEND_MESSAGE.SCP). Failure to send mail might be due to
incorrect accounts setup.
2. Check that the queue OA$SCRIPT_ENGLISH is ok.
3. Check the Profile. This is most important. Check that the Manager
account (ALLINI1 ?) has a valid VMS username, and that the account
has things like OA$ADMIN and OA$MANAGER ids. Check the Policies to
see which other a/cs might be named as Managers, e.g. for receiving
exception reports. Check your own VMS a/c, its privs and ids.
4. Check the OWNERSHIP of SM_*.* files in OA$LIB (if the ownership is
not the same as the Manager account, then A1SUBMIT will not work).
See how this lot goes. Please supply us with any info that you find
Thanks.

2690.2 | It looks fine to me. | VAXRIO::WILLECKE | I'm still trying... | Tue May 11 1993 14:00 | 23 |
| Dave,
The answers:
1. I didn't know where the job failed, because I just can't find the
LOG file...(where can I find it?).
2. The queue OA$SCRIPT_ENGLISH is OK.
3. The VMS username of the MANAGER account is ALLIN1 and it seams to be
OK, I mean, I can loging and do what I want, except SHUTDOWN ALL-IN-1 and
edit my account. As I told you, I made an upgrade and the MANAGER
account is the same (it was working well in V2.4). I also checked the
privs and the ID, they are all there.
4. I checked the owner of OA$LIB:SM_* files and they are all ALLIN1.
If you need to get into our system, I think that I can send you a mail
with the pass oh the ALLIN1 account.
Thanks,
Valeria.

2690.3 | 'funny' characters in username | IOSG::BILSBOROUGH | Just testing. Please ignore!!! | Tue May 11 1993 16:07 | 11 |
|
Has the account name your trying to edit got any special characters ,
full stops for example. If so this could well be your problem.
Workaround:
If so just carry out the steps by hand. Add OA$PRVAPP to the account
and change the PRVAPP field to P.

2690.4 | Seen in passing | WAYOUT::CROOKS | Definitely NOT a dry blackthorn day! | Tue May 11 1993 16:48 | 21 |
| Hi Valeria,
Re the problem shutting down and the Invalid VMS account
I think Dave did point to the likely cause of this but
am not sure from your reply if you actually checked in
SM MSY SSP - as having blank fields in there ( very common
after upgrades) is the usual cause of the message.
Re the OA$SCRIPT_ENGLISH problem I had a customer who saw
funnies with this and that was due to SYLOGIN.COM setting
symbols etc for the script symbiont process. It is best to
have the following line in SYLOGIN.COM anyway
$IF F$EXTRACT(0,4,F$PROCESS()) .EQS. "_OA$" THEN $EXIT
hope this helps

2690.5 | How to get the Release Notes | IOSG::PYE | Graham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's Apprentice | Tue May 11 1993 19:31 | 12 |
| And the final question, the Release Notes are on the language tape,
since they are language specific. The dummy RNs on the base tape should
have explained this. So to get them, pretend to do an installation off
the language tape e.g.
@SYS$UPDATE:VMSINSTAL A1LUS030 MTA0 OPTIONS N
I may have got these parameters the wrong way round, but you get the
general idea. Of course if you aren't using the US kit, then the
product name will be something other than A1LUS030!!

2690.6 | Now I have another problem! | VAXRIO::WILLECKE | I'm still trying... | Thu May 13 1993 21:25 | 23 |
| Grahan,
Thanks for the instructions to get the Release Notes...
Mike,
Yes, all my accounts has a "." inside, like LASTNAME.FIRSTNAME. A
friend of my edited two scripts to correct this problem, but now, when
I try to access the CM options it shows me the message "Your Profile is
being edited. Please see you ALL-IN-1 Manager" and I still can't access
the CM menu.
Alan,
I put that line in the SYLOGIN.COM, but as I told in the last
paragraph, now I'm having another problem.
I'll keep trying...
Valeria.

2690.7 | set while PRVAPP being switched | IOSG::TYLDESLEY | | Fri May 14 1993 10:03 | 10 |
| Valeria,
>>when I try to access the CM options it shows me the message "Your
>>Profile is being edited."
====
From Manager account try:
<write change profil user="{your ALL-IN-1 username}",not$in$use=0
Your account should work then.
