ching-U, 1) Can you supply more details - transferring ALL-IN-1 mail from where to where? 2) Which Microsoft Product? You can 'talk' to Microsoft office (Word, Excel etc) using TeamLinks and ALL-IN-1 IOS. It depends what you mean by 'talk'. Cheers, Andy | |||||

Andy,
Thanks for the speedy reply.
1) Customer needs to know the cost of sending a local mail within
ALL-IN-1.
Is there some kind of a chart specifying the number of active/
maximum A1 users a certain CPU can support ?

* 1) Customer needs to know the cost of sending a local mail within
* ALL-IN-1.
This would vary a great deal depending on your setup, CPU, disks, the
size of the message, the number of addressees etc. However very
roughly on a 6210 to send to 5 addressees consumes 1 to 1.5 seconds of
CPU and takes 50 to 100 Direct I/Os.
When a local mail message is sent then the major events that take place
are:
The file containing the message text is copied from the user's area to
the shared area.
Attributes are deleted from the user's DAF and added to the shared DAF
The user's DOCDB is updated.
For every addressee their entry in the PENDING file is updated - if you
have a long addressee list this will take the longest time,
A record is added to OA$MTILOG.
To find out how long it takes on a system, you can turn on metering
(See ALL-IN-1 system management guide). However you will have to do
some work on the output before you get an average figure.

* maximum A1 users a certain CPU can support ?
Yes - see conference MRKTNG::ASEPG Note 11.
