    Under V3.0 the user is now enduring very bad response during WPS-PLUS
    spell-checking. We have improved ALL-IN-1 response by reducing QUANTUM,
    although his CPU really is maxxed out.
    
    Specifically, initialization takes about 40 seconds, and actually
    spell-checking a word has been in the multiple minute range. 
    
    We expect them to upgrade their hardware, but in the mean time I'm
    looking for advice about tuning and user activities (other than "don't
    spell check").
