2628.0. "OA-W-CAB_DWRLOCKED, Drawer currently being accessed by another user" by KAOT01::M_MORIN (Le diable est aux vaches!) Wed Apr 28 1993 17:09

The CABINET SET_DRAWER function is returning an error:

%OA-W-CAB_DWRLOCKED, Drawer currently being accessed by another user

Under what instance would this be happening?

This problem is intermittent at the customer site and we're not able to
pinpoint whether the error is in accessing FILECAB or PARTITION data-sets,
from the trace log. The error comes as a result of doing a 'R'ead of a
drawer that a user has access to from the DRM menu.

Any help appreciated.

2628.1Looks like FCS problemIOSG::MAURICENight rolls in, my dark companionWed Apr 28 1993 18:548
Hi,

This looks like the same problem as Note 2473. Have a look to see if there are
any errors recorded in the FCS log file.

Cheers

2628.2Why are drawers that are not shared having a prob ?BUSHIE::SETHIAhhhh (-: an upside down smile from OZFri May 28 1993 03:2228
    Hi All,

I know that Stuart has pointed to another note however the problem I am
getting is slightly different and gives the error message as per the
    title.

A customer has both their private (MAIN) and shared drawers being
randomly locked up. The message the customer get's is:

Drawer id being accessed by another user and
    Cannot get exlusive access

An example of this happening is when they did an EM (MAIN drawer was
selected it's not being shared) than pressed next screen. This gave
    the above error message.

The customer has tuned the server and has set the CHANNELCNT to 2047
(the MAX value) he also increased the DECnet links to 150. The problem
seems to have gone away BUT he wants to know if the problem will
reoccure. Is there anything else he needs to do ?

Also what is of concern is that unshared drawers are getting this error
message any reason why ? Again the logfile for this problem can be
    found on RIPPER::USER$TSC:[SETHI]OAFC$SERVER.DIGITAL_COPY.

    Regards,

    Sunil
