I've copied this from 10.3 so I can answer the two questions separately. Graham ================================================================================ Note 10.3 Official Support Requires SPRs 3 of 3 CSC32::S_MAUFE "this space for rent" 7 lines 27-APR-1993 22:29 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- where is the ALL-IN-1 QAR system? I've found the DECtrace facility definition supplied with V3.0 is actually tagged V2.4, and would like to tag it for field-test. Thanks ! Simon CSC/Colorado Springs

Simon, I don't understand why this should be. The file EPC$A1V30-FAC-DEF.EPC$DEF (which is in saveset A1030.C) is stuffed full of V3.0 strings as far as I can see. I must admit I'm not familar with DECTrace, so I can't be sure. During the installation, we insert this file into the SYS$LIBRARY:EPC$FACILITY.TLB. Is some part of this process going wrong on your system? Graham

the .EPC$DEF file is the correct file, you're right. However, on my machine, and on my customers machine, the library entry, although labelled OAV3.0, was actually V2.4. Here are the steps, Coors_V6> library/extract=oav3.0/out=a.a sys$library:epc$facility.tlb/text Coors_V6>>> collect insert definition a.a %EPC-E-FACINS_FAIL, Facility definition(s) were not inserted -EPC-E-FACINS_FACEXIST, Facility definition OA V2.4 has already been inserted Note the V2.4 for the version number, even though I extracted the V3.0 definition. Thanks for looking at this! Simon

a further thought. I don't have, never have had ALL-IN-1 on my machine. I wonder if the template/'empty' EPC$FACILITY.TLB shipped with DECtrace has the slipup. ALL-IN-1, and its installation, never got near my file. Simon

bothe the DECtrace V1.2 CONDIST kit and the 2.0 network kit have the correct definition. I think I'm off to persue this in DECtrace land, since ALL-IN-1 never got near my library. thanks for the pointers! Simon |
