2617.1 | It didn't exist in v2.3 | IOSG::SHOVE | Dave Shove -- REO2-G/M6 | Tue Apr 27 1993 16:12 | 13 |
| Looking at our CMS libraries, it didn't exist in v2.3.
It was introduced in v3.0 -- BUT its purpose is to be called during the
installation. To quote the CMS comment:
"delete housekeeping jobs from queues on update installations. Called
from kiupdate.com"
It sounds (from the later error) that something fairly bad went wrong
with the upgrade - I'll let installation experts comment on what it
might have been.

2617.2 | Possibly OAFBT problem ... | AIMTEC::VOLLER_I | Gordon (T) Gopher for President | Tue Apr 27 1993 16:24 | 15 |
| Ricardo,
There is a problem with accessing forms libraries that are on MSCP
served remote devices. This is particularly true for devices on
a foreign (non-Digital) controller.
There is a patch available should you see this problem after
installation. However if the installation is failing, a new version
of OAFBT needs to be installed.
I'll contact you off-line with some more details.
Regards,
Iain.

2617.3 | Saveset corrupted? | IOSG::PYE | Graham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's Apprentice | Tue Apr 27 1993 19:34 | 5 |
| I would say that the error message indicates that the file didn't come
off the saveset correctly. Perhaps it's corrupted in some way. It
should be in A1030.A.

2617.4 | FRIDAY ! sigh.... | KAOFS::R_OBAS | | Tue Apr 27 1993 21:23 | 9 |
| Thanks all...
Re:Iain
There's no MSCP served devices. We'll try again on Friday and I will
make sure that there is a logfile.

2617.5 | SM_DELETE_FROM_QUEUE.SCP missing, v2.3 to v3.0 upg | COPCLU::ELIN | Elin Christensen @DMO, DTN 857-2406 | Fri Aug 27 1993 16:38 | 32 |
| I have also seen an ALL-IN-1 upgrade stop (not hang) because of a
missing OA$LIB:SM_DELETE_FROM_QUEUE.SCP.
Yesterday afternoon I started an upgrade from ALL-IN-1 v2.3 to v3.0.
But when I arrived today, the installation had aborted with a message
that the file OA$LIB:SM_DELETE_FROM_QUEUE.SCP could not be found.
This file was not on the customer's v2.3 system, nor on my own v2.3 test
system. I found it in A1030.A together with the file DIRBASEA.ELE that
listed elements to be provided:
$ type dirbasea.ele
A1$ A1LNKASK.COM A1$SRC_DIRECT: C
A1$ SM_DELETE_FROM_QUEUE.SCP A1$LIB_SHARE_DIRECT:
A1$ SCRIPT_QUEUES_ALL.COM A1$LIB_SHARE_DIRECT:
A1$ QUEUE_JOB.COM A1$LIB_SHARE_DIRECT:
I copied A1LNKASK.COM to OA$BUILD_SHARE and the other files to
OA$LIB_SHARE, renamed the two SOURCES directories back to SOURCES.DIR
and LLV_DANISH.DIR, crossed my fingers and started over the installation.
(I don't know what the "C" in the first line of DIRBASEA.ELE means, so
I hope I have done nothing wrong.)
This time the installation procedure passed the point where it deletes
housekeeping procedures, but gave an error message that a form (QUI_JOB
or something like that) could not be found.
- But the installation proceeded.
I left the customer hoping that the installation will go on smothly and
I am now going to do the post-installations on Sunday.
