2601.0. "Cmtxl will not compile with CCM." by AIMTEC::SIMPSON_L () Wed Apr 21 1993 22:29
Hello,
I have a customer issue which has been puzzling me for a while.
Hope someone can shed some light on it for me.
My customer is runninb ALL-IN-1 V2.4. When attempting to compile the
Cmtxl using
the CM option, or running the Cm_cds script which this option calls, he
gets a
stack dump during the compilation of the Oa$site_blp_english directory.
Boilerplates up to and including Mailmemo2.blp are compiled then the
stack dump occurs.
I have checked the following:
o files other than blp or scp files in txl directories (none)
o files in the wrong directories (as far as I can tell none)
o logicals defined system and exec (all are defined this way)
o ownership of files (ALL-IN-1 owns them and they have
(s:rwed,o:rwed,g:re,w:re) protection)
o A suggestion was made to me that posibly one or more
file headers might be corrupt. I copied the oa$site_blp_english
files out
of this directory, deleted the versions in the directory, then
copied them back. (no luck)
o the system was rebooted thinking a memory problem might be
occurring.
This did not help.
If we use the Oa$txl functions to compile, remove and install the
txl,
it works just fine.
The following things cause Ccm to work:
o Adding a blp file in the Oa$site_blp_english directory
at the beginning, in the middle or at the end, whether this new
file
has something in it or not, causes Ccm to work.
o Setting the terminal width to 132 before logging into
ALL-IN-1 will allow Ccm to work.
We have been trying anything and everything from the ALL-IN-1 manager's
account. I know the workarounds we have at this point are rather
bizarre
but this whole problem seems rather bizarre. None of the more
common problems seem to be the cause.
Oh, by the way, I did check out mailmemow.blp and R2020,blp
the file after mailmemo2 and they seem to be fine.
The customer said that the last time the txl was compiled was
back in March and they had no problems then.
Can anyone give me some other ideas to check on?
Thanks very much!
Laurie

2601.1 | Any layered products? | AIMTEC::WICKS_A | on the Streets of San Francisco | Mon Apr 26 1993 22:42 | 8 |
| Laurie,
is there a customised version of CM_CDS and the like on the system
from MICA or APA?
Regards,
Andrew.D.Wicks (apparently back in Atlanta)

2601.2 | Maybe, hopefully, it will work out. | AIMTEC::SIMPSON_L | | Wed Apr 28 1993 18:49 | 20 |
| Andrew,
Thanks for the reply.
No, the cm_cds script was not customized unless SFCP or Wordperfect
customized it. It looks like ours on Oamate. Anyway,
Iain and I relinked the image yesterday
and discovered problems with a relink. So they need to fix
these and hopefully the problem will be resolved.
I had tried the relink before I got together with
Iain and saw the problems but I needed to talk to him
and find out the implications of the errors that were showing
up.
Hopefully this will be resolved soon.
Thanks again.
Laurie
