2542.0. "SYSTEM NICKNAMES.....ouch!" by RESTRT::LATIMER (Eastern States Product Support) Wed Apr 07 1993 21:52
Disclaimer !!!
I know this note belongs in the REUSE conference, but unfortunately, no one
ever seems to read that conference and so I am going to risk the wrath
of many (lucky Don is gone) by putting this here. 8^)
So...attention all OLD OLD OLD timers....I have a customer with the System
Nicknames Assets package (I can hear the groans). The package works fine
when sending mail to users on the local node. However, when specifying
a remote user, e.g., user @loc, the customer gets a message about
"not being able to find NICKNAMES.COM".
I am getting this information second-hand from a manager, but was hoping
someone might know if this sounds like the file is gone from the system or
could this be another problem....?
This is all of the information I have at this time.
Thanks for any and all ideas,
Nancy

| nancy,
I believe i'm supposed to respond with something like "this is a
revenue opportunity please contact the CSC..." ok so i've done that bit
Is this a case of the user on the remote system having an MAIDES
of NICKNAMES?
I guess before guessing anymore i'd have to see a real example address
and the non-delivery.
