2532.0. "mails to Manager sent to a regular user instead!?" by HTSC19::SIMONLAU () Tue Apr 06 1993 11:23

    Hi,

    A customer running ALL-IN-1 V2.4 on VMS A5.5-1 encountered a problem
    after a successful Transfer User Account Over Network. All the mails
    sent to ALL-IN-1 Manager were found sent to a regular general account
    instead !? Is it a known problem after doing TUA ? or .... ?

    Any suggestion ?

    Your input would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    Simon

2532.1Does Manager have autoforward set?FORTY2::ASHGrahame Ash @REOTue Apr 06 1993 14:590

    V2.4. I'm glad the Transfer was successful. :-)

    I tried to look into this but need some clarification if you
    can, please. Do you mean that all the manager's mail was re-directed
    (as Grahame is suggesting, -1), or do you mean that all the mail
    normally sent to the manager, e.g. housekeeping exception reports,
    went to someone else? Also, was the Manager account involved in the
    transfer in any way, other than being the one doing the transferring?

    Sorry not to be much help.

2532.3Would Manager's autoforward changed by TUA ?HTSC19::SIMONLAUWed Apr 07 1993 05:4824
    Re: .1 & .2:

    Thanks a lot for your input !

    It was found that the Manager Account had autoforward set ! After it
    was corrected, everything became normal again.

    The customer firmly sure that no one has ever changed it to
    autoforward, and just before the TUA, Manager could still receive
    mails (housekeeping reports ... etc) !!

    > Also, was the Manager account involved in the transfer in any way
    > other than being the one doing the transferring?

      No, the TUA was done to a normal regular user account.

      Is there any known cases that the Manager Account autoforward set
      was changed by doing TUA ?

      Thanks again.

    Hi Simon.

    I don't know of any problems on V2.4 with this. Do you know if,
    during the transfer, the 'Set up auto reply account (Y/N) :'
    option was chosen? Speculating - this might have gone wrong?
    Sorry, I don't have a V2.4 system to hand at the moment to try.
    Cheers
    DaveT
