Hi,
I am a new user to ALL-IN-1 having worked from the DCL prompt and
VAXmail for many years so my comments might be repetition.
I am getting quite a few mails from people who, when answering a
mail with a distribution list, will insist on using the "A" for all
the members of the list, instead of "S" for Sender only.
Since ALL-IN-1 does not allow for unread mail to be deleted I am
obliged to select/read and then delete a mail I did not want to
receive.
I realise this is an operational error on behalf of the users but:
Could either a "default answer be set up to "S"
or
put the "S" for Sender the first option on the prompt line (some people
may not actually read to the end of the line).
Whilst I am on the point of Mail is it not possible to make the
mail selection commands a little more user-friendly.
for example: why do I have to press the mail number "6" and <CR> and
then have to press "R" <CR> to read a mail.
Would it be possible to remove the requirement for the <CR> or to
link the "R" to the number and go straight in
It's really a matter of ergonomics, in respect of keyboard
strokes/action required.
Regards,
Paul.

Hi,
Thanks for posting your observations. Feedback like this is very useful
to us. Here are a couple of comments which I hope you will find helpful:

Ask your System Manager for the ALL-IN-1 privilege which allows you to
delete unread mail. It's set in your ALL-IN-1 profile record.

You can type "6 R" (i.e. 6 space_character R), which is a bit easier. I
agree that 6R would be even better.
Cheers
Stuart
