2505.0. "Auto-reply corrupt or unavailable" by KERNEL::OTHENJ () Wed Mar 31 1993 11:52
Hello,
ALL-IN-1 v3.0
Since doing an upgrade from 2.4 to v3.0 (Sept), they have only seen this
error 4 times and is non-reproducible , but they would like to know what
causes it.
A user set an auto-reply on his account, and while away received 80
messages, and they all received the auto-reply message correctly. One
particular user though, on sending the mail, received the message
Replyhist.dat file is corrupt or unavailable
and they did not receive the auto-reply. The user has since come back in
and cancelled their auto-reply, so I cannot tell if the name was written
into the file, but the structure of the file looked fine, and other people
at a later date could receive the auto-reply successfully.
When someone's name is being written to the replyhist.dat file, is an
exclusive write lock opened for that user?
Any help much appreciated,
Julie
