2489.1 | You can already do it in V3.0 | SCOTTC::MARSHALL | Spitfire Drivers Do It Topless | Tue Mar 30 1993 09:53 | 15 |
| Hi,
With V3.0, the easiest way to merge two accounts is for user A simply
to make all their drawers shared and give user B access. If user A leaves, the
system manager can delete their account, specifying not to delete the shared
drawers.
Even cleverer would be for the system manager to change the policy field
"Holding account for orphan drawers" to user B, then delete user A's account,
then reset the "Holding account" field. This would move all user A's shared
drawers to user B's account, thus effectively merging the two accounts.
What more could you want? :-)

2489.2 | . . . mostly . . . | IOSG::SHOVE | Dave Shove -- REO2-G/M6 | Tue Mar 30 1993 12:17 | 5 |
| Except, of course, for Time Management. If they don't use it, fine.
Otherwise you would want to merge their meetings, tasks etc - I don't
know how difficult that would be.

2489.3 | Any other things to watch out for ? | BUSHIE::SETHI | Man from Downunder | Wed Mar 31 1993 00:31 | 9 |
| Hi Scott and Dave,
Thanks for your reply it seems quite easy to merge the account under
version 3.0. Apart from Time Management are there other things to
watch out for when merging two accounts ?
Regards,
Sunil

2489.4 | A few more | IOSG::BURTON | ALL-IN-1 Builder | Wed Mar 31 1993 10:32 | 21 |
| Here's a few (some not directly ALL-IN-1 related) :
If user A had access to other drawers, these would need to be added
to user B's filecab. If some of these drawers were remote, the proxy
on the remote system(s) would need to be changed.
If user A had access to restricted notes conferences, then the
membership of those conferences would need to be changed.
If user A was a member of any groups, then user B would need to be
added to the groups.
If user A had any UAF rights identifiers these would need to be
granted to user B.
If user A had access to other applications using ACLs, these ACLs
would need to be changed to user B.
Martin.
