2469.0. "how to print logo?" by ODIXIE::LAROE (Jeanne LaRoe DTN 385-2926) Wed Mar 24 1993 20:36

    Hi,

My customer, BellSouth, wants to modify ALL-IN-1 V3.0 to print their
logo on the header of electronic mail messages. (they don't want to
    display it, just print it).

What needs to be changed in ALL-IN-1 to do this? I know we can create
an encapsulated postscript file of the logo. Is that the file type we
need? What scripts and/or forms need to be modified, and how?

    Thanks in advance,
    Jeanne

Jeanne,

One solution will be:

Define a printer form, having a setup module, if you want to have the logo
printed on the first page only or having a page_setup module to have it printed
on each page. If you have only PostScript printers then a PostScript LOGO will
be OK, but if you have ANSI printers, then you will need to have a Sixel file
(by scanning and converting). When the form is defined, you create in ALL-IN-1
a Printer type which will use that specific form.

Best regards
Pierre

2469.2Special font and PTU work makes it accessible via WPS-PLUSSANFAN::LESLIE_DAGreetings & SolutionsFri Mar 26 1993 15:5214
Macy's west did this by getting a special soft font created and then
using a WPS-PLUS control block (and appropriate printer table work)
they are able to get their logo on any page of a document. This
approach would probably require getting the font for each printer it
would support and making the same modification to the printer tables of
each printer type. Alternatively, they set up a 14 point font for a
printer that didn't support their font and made it display the company
name and other info in a similar manner.

They used compugraphic (I think) to make their font. Cost was pretty
minimal ($300 if my memoray serves me right).

Dan
