2456.0. "A1V30START and Personal License" by ZUR01::TOLBA () Tue Mar 23 1993 15:53

Hello,

Customer has ALL-IN-1 Version 3.0 with Personal License and LMF1.1

He has 5 users registered in the reserve list.

If he is going to boot his system the A1030START.COM will fail as System is not
in the reserve list.

A look to the Symbol SM$_PLM_UTILITY does show:
@Manager@Postmaster@IVP@Boot@A1Script@

A workaround for the customer could be:

modifiying Systartup_v5.com and register System in the reserve list before
starting A1030START.COM. After A1030Start modifying the reserve list again to
its origin values.

Qestions:
- is the above workaround the way we should do it when personal license is used?
- Could we add the value of @System to SM$_PLM_UTILITY?
- Any better solution?

Thanks for your help.

Best regards,
Manuela

    	Sorry, I've been off sick recently.

    	Yes, SYSTEM should be in the SM$_PLM_UTILITY symbol. An omission
    	which should be SPRed and fixed. I remember thinking that SYSTEM
    	didn't have a PROFILE entry so it didn't need to be in the symbol,
    	but as you point out, thats not correct. I've been tempted to make
    	any /NOINIT calls exempt from license checking...

    	Your fix to reassign the license during boot is okay, as would be
    	customising the SM$_PLM_UTILITY symbol.

    Regards,
    Paul
