2375.0. "how to create a ALL-IN-1 manager's account ??" by MSAM03::HOSOKEHUN () Mon Mar 08 1993 10:47

    Hi,

    I am running ALL-IN-1 V2.4 on a VMS V5.5-2 system.

    I created a system manager account A1MANAGER1 with netmbx, tmpmbx and
    sysprv privilege, with form library oa$lib:manager.

    I then logged into this account, did a MGT DTC to create a template to
    create users. However, when I do a C CU to create new users, I get
    error - you cannot access the profile - change mode.

    In the oa$log, the file goes as far as the
    oa$lib:sm_cr_users_detail.scp and then returned a 'no_template' error
    status and the mail received said - cannot find the required template.

    If I then nominate this user as the administrator, then I can create
    using the same template with no problem.

    What is the problem here ?? Do I need more priv then just the above to
    create a ALL-IN-1 system manager account ?? I do not want to copy the
    original ALLIN1 account because it has a lot of privs.

    Any idea ??

    Thanks in advance,
    Angeline

2375.1think this still applies for V2.4..IOSG::TYLDESLEYMon Mar 08 1993 11:4910
    Hi,

    Ensure that the account has identifiers OA$MANAGER and OA$ADMIN. For
    safety also ensure that the account you want to act as Manager is named
    in the appropriate fields in the Policies (Account for batch jobs,
    Account to receive exception reports & Holding account for orphan
    drawers). See also note #2326.1

    Cheers,
    DaveT
2375.2Manager must be called "MANAGER"?SCOTTC::MARSHALLSpitfire Drivers Do It ToplessMon Mar 08 1993 17:558
re .1 and .0

Weren't the checks for OA$MANAGER added in V3.0?

I thought in V2.4 that the manager account had to be called "MANAGER". So you
can only have one ALL-IN-1 manager. I think.

    Yes. sorry -that'll teach me to check it out first. I've just had a
    look in the old V2.4 CMS library, and quite right, there's no mention
    of oa$manager. Checking the various CU scripts/coms also indicates that
    the check is on the form lib in the frmlib field, and you have to be
    MANAGER to be a manager as Scott says. Very sorry.
