2255.0. "TM Usage and general problem question" by PRMS00::TLIGHTON (Expectant Father - Handle With Care) Fri Feb 12 1993 18:58

First the specifics:	ALL-IN-1 2.4 with patches
				Some TM Customizations

A customer is experiencing some "problems" with their Time Management.
I'm trying to find out some background information and would greatly appreciate
any info that folks can provide.

The Situation:

This customer is very heavy into TM. They are generating 4000-4500 TM
events every 60 days. They have a procedure which removes events which are
over 60 days old. They receive some form of problem report from users on
approximately 0.5% of these. It should be noted that a portion of these
problems can be traced to mail message parsing, but others may be file
corruption, or specifically TM related. The customer feels that this problem
rate is unacceptable and is looking to us for support. I'm not sure if these
problems are TM related or customization related. They are heavy users and
have made some customizations to TM. I've searched through the conference
attempting to locate similar problems without much success. Any assistance,
especially with the following questions is greatly appreciated.

The Biggest Problem:

I'm not on site and I've just gotten involved in this. My boss would
like to get some answers to the following questions by noon on Monday as he has
a meeting with the customer. While I don't expect we'll solve their problems
by then, if you can assist in determining the cause, I'll be VERY grateful.

The Questions:

1.	Is there any other customer (or internal system) which is utilizing TM
	as heavily as this customer?

2.	Are any other customers (or internal systems) experiencing a similar
	problem rate as this customer?

3.	Is this problem rate "acceptable" or "expected" or is there some
situation (TM or customizations) out there that is causing these which
is unacceptable or unexpected and needs to be solved?

		Thanx in advance...
