Hello, I found a problem with the File Cabinet Server and CDA Converter Library V2.0. (Similar to Note 1061 and 1295 in the TeamLinks conference.) This problem was fixed with ALL-IN-1 V3.0-1. It looks like that the fix is only appropriate for WPS-PLUS documents.) My scenario is: VMS V5.5-2 ALL-IN-1 V3.0-1 CDA Converter Library V2.0 A customer wants to use ALL-IN-1 for conversion. He creates a WPS-PLUS file. Then he converts it through the CD (Convert Option) to RTF. There is a format Master for RTF with CDA format set to YES. Front end and Back end converter are both RTF. Then he connects with TeamLinks to his ALL-IN-1 File cabinet. Trys to edit the new file with Word for Windows. TeamLinks creates the following error message: TeamLinks Info Mgr. Document's format/organization not supported; The server currently not support the documents's file format or organization on the host. The new created file has the RMS Record format attribute STREAM_LF. If you create a FDL, edit the FDL to record format STREAM and create a file with CONVERT/RMS/FDL= everything is O.K. You have no problem to access this file from TeamLinks. You can open in Word for Windows (outside from TeamLinks) the RMS File with the STREAM_LF attribute. Word brings up a box, saying this is a RTF Format, do you want to format this document? This is not what the customer wants. Is there a fix (patch) for the File Cabinet Server? If not, what should I do that engineering is aware of the problem? (To get a fix for the problem in the next ALL-IN-1 patch?). Best regards, Robert

The FCS does support STREAM_LF format. >It looks like that the fix is only appropriate for WPS-PLUS documents.) The FCS does not know, nor does it care that it is a WPS-PLUS doc, the file is stored by IOS, then TL makes a call to get the file, it tells us what format the file is, we treat it as such. I would suggest you put this is the TL conference. > TeamLinks Info Mgr. >Document's format/organization not supported; >The server currently not support the documents's >file format or organization on the host. You need to find out what in TL causes this message. It is not from the FCS and I can tell nothing about what the FCS thinks is wrong. To the FCS a file is a file, we don't care who created it. --Bob |
