Hello,
I have a customer using ALL-IN-1 V3.0 and having a problem with HEXA-
DECIMAL error messages when doing document transfer to/from DECMATE.
Fortunately it is secluded only to one user.
Any document this user transfer from DECMATE to ALL-IN-1, The error is
always "009E86E2". There was no corruption in DOCDB.dat, document
titles do not have any special/number characters,I changed the
WPSDEF.WPL, did a GOLD GET to existing documents but to no avail. We
restored the users directory from most recent backup and everything
went fine.
Question: How can we get an english error message instead of the HEXA?
THis is a UNI-lingual system so ther is no OA$LLVENGLISH.EXE that we
can install. THere is no DDXERR.EXE in ALL-IN-1 V3.0 (I did'nt find one)
The customer have about 150 DECMATEs and worried that the problem might
happen to other users and wants an english error message.
Thanks for any information.

On the DDXERR message file hanging around on our system 009E86E2 translates to;
"%DDX-E-CTWPS, Error detected on DEC Workstation. Cannot transfer document"
I hope this is of help.

"cannot transfer document" We know that it cannoty transfer the

2220.3 | What's different? | IOSG::PYE | Graham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's Apprentice | Mon Feb 08 1993 21:43 | 13 |
| It looks like that's the only information you are going to get, if
that's what the error message translates too.
What else changed when you restored his directory from backup? Was he
doing something to his terminal setup in LOGIN.COM? Perhaps you could
restore a few files at a time until it stops working?
What's different about this user? Different versions of something?
Different terminal ports? Different SYSUAF parameters?
You could also try asking in the WPS-PLUS conference.
