2204.1 | Mostly didn't work or duplicated elsewhere... | IOSG::PYE | Graham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's Apprentice | Wed Feb 03 1993 09:10 | 13 |
| Since half of it didn't work, and most of the rest of it was covered
by other options (E,R etc.) in appropriate menus. E.g. MMF of PROFIL
was done by SM MUA E etc. then we removed it.
Unfortunately this left one or two things without menu interfaces, just
leaving you to call the entry forms directly, so we did put some bits
back later.
What bits of MMF are they trying to use?
Graham
PS Also discussed before I think.

2204.2 | They did read the CART report? | AIMTEC::WICKS_A | MUP(pets) coming to ALL-IN-1 soon? | Wed Feb 03 1993 16:53 | 8 |
| Chaim,
the CART should have flagged them as deleted base elements
and the elements that call them in status D.

2204.3 | In customer documentation ..??? | TAV02::CHAIM | Semper ubi Sub ubi ..... | Thu Feb 04 1993 11:19 | 5 |
| Has this been documented in any of the documents which the customer receives?
Thanks,
Cb.

2204.4 | Isn't the CART report documentation enough? | IOSG::PYE | Graham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's Apprentice | Thu Feb 04 1993 13:12 | 12 |
| I don't know if we specifically announced that we were removing MMF,
but since, as I said in .1, we only removed bits that didn't work,
whilst other parts were provided by the relevant SM submenus, I don't
see that the removal of MMF counts as a removal of function that we
need to specifically spell out in the SPD, like we did when the old TM
interface was removed.
As Andy says, the removed files will have been (assuming I built the
data file right!!) spcified in the CART report, but since we deleted
408 files by my calculations, I don't think we could have listed them
all in the documentation. This is, after all, the sort of information
that the CART was intended to provide.

2204.5 | CART is NOT enough ... | TAV02::CHAIM | Semper ubi Sub ubi ..... | Thu Feb 04 1993 13:45 | 12 |
| I believe that any menu function which has been discarded should be documented
in the release notes. CART does NOT tell you this information, and I don't
think it is reasonable to expect a system manager to deduce that if CART
told him that form MMF is no longer used that this means that menu function MMF
no longer exists.
In this case the system manager had several UDPs of his own which utilize MMF,
and I believe he has every right to be upset.
Thanks,
Cb.

2204.6 | Sorry... | IOSG::PYE | Graham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's Apprentice | Fri Feb 05 1993 11:02 | 7 |
| Well send the customer my apologies...
Large numbers of menu options changed position and names on the SM
screens, so I imagine a load of UDPs will have been broken. MMF is just
one of them.
