2170.0. "Accessing DECfonts from WPS-PLUS" by FREE::GOGUEN (nothing personal . . .) Thu Jan 28 1993 19:08

    			WPS-PLUS Character Table Builder
    				      for
    			    Adobe Font Metrics Files
    				   (PRCBUILD)

Don Goguen (WPS-PLUS Development) and Dan Schullman (DECfonts Project
Leader) are pleased to announce the availability of field test software
to allow WPS-PLUS PostScript users to utilize the optional typefaces
that the DECfonts Typeface Collection (DFTC) provides.

    DFTC V1.2 contains 158 different typefaces in 29 separately-licensed
font kits, including those found on the Apple LaserWriter (R) printer,
script and decorative faces, as well as many faces suitable for use as
    body text.

This field test software is currently for *DIGITAL INTERNAL USE ONLY*.
There is no commitment at this time to release this software for
    external use.

*** PLEASE DO NOT GIVE ANY OF THIS (i.e. DECfonts KITS AND/OR THE
    PRCBUILD UTILITY) TO CUSTOMERS ***

WPS-PLUS for VMS, V4.1 or later (or ALL-IN-1 V3.0 or later) is required
    to use this software.

For more information about the DFTC, which is also supported by
DECwrite and DECpresent, see the HANNAH::DECFONTS_TYPEFACE_COLLECTION
conference. Note 8 of that conference has numerous file pointers
indicating the location of the font kits, SPD, documentation, typeface
samples, etc. Note 54 has PAK-related information and note 13 has
    information on their internal cost.

A field test conference has been created (FREE::WPS-DFTC) for comments,
questions, and discussions concerning the PRCBUILD utility. Note 3
    contains netkit information.
