2162.0. "SHOW_LIPS.BLP twice, CTX with duplicate element" by ZUR01::KURTH (Peter Kurth @RLE, Rmlang (CH)) Wed Jan 27 1993 12:49

    Hello

    ALL-IN-1 V3.0 (no V3.0-1); upgraded from V2.4 (patched up to K605).
    Default language = German, second language is English.

    When compiling the base TXL, the following error occurs:

    	.
    	.
    TXL> Attempt to add duplicate element SHOW_LIPS to TXL A1TXL
    TXL>    Ignoring OASYS$DISK:[ALLIN1.BLP_SHARE]SHOW_LIPS.BLP;1
    	.
    	.
    Text Library OA$LIB_LLV:A1TXL compiled with 1 duplicate element
    Text Library OA$LIB_LLV:A1TXL successfully compiled
    Press [RETURN]

    Error compiling ALL-IN-1 TXL

    We have three files on our system:

    Directory OASYS$DISK:[ALLIN1.BLP_GERMAN]

    SHOW_LIPS.BLP;1                      1  12-MAR-1992 09:39:04.84

    Directory OASYS$DISK:[ALLIN1.BLP_ENGLISH]

    SHOW_LIPS.BLP;1                      1  12-MAR-1992 09:39:04.84

    Directory OASYS$DISK:[ALLIN1.BLP_SHARE]

    SHOW_LIPS.BLP;1                      1   8-NOV-1991 18:26:43.66

    The file in OA$BLP_SHARE is certainly wrong. Where from is this file?
    I understand this file is not part of V2.4, right?
    I cannot find any reference in save-sets OAW*024 and K604/K605, nor in
    the V3.0 save-sets (except in A1L*030.E for the correct file with date
    12-MAR-1992).

    Is it save to delete the file in OA$BLP_SHARE?

    Thanks and regards, Peter

2162.2New in WPS-PLUS V4IOSG::NEWLANDRichard Newland, IOSG, REO2-G/L2Wed Jan 27 1993 14:286
SHOW_LIPS.BLP was a new file for WPS-PLUS V4. Did your system once have
ALL-IN-1 V2.4 with the WPS-PLUS V4 option?

Richard
2162.3Thanks for your answers ZUR01::KURTHPeter Kurth @RLE, Rmlang (CH)Wed Jan 27 1993 14:535
    Yes, we had ALL-IN-1 V2.4 with the WPS-PLUS V4 option. But I did not
    find SHOW_LIPS.BLP in one of the OAW*-save-sets. I delete the
    OA$BLP_SHARE:SHOW_LIPS.BLP.

    Thanks. Gressli, Peter
2162.6I was relying on my memory!AIMTEC::WICKS_AMUP(pets) coming to ALL-IN-1 soon?Thu Jan 28 1993 17:2913
    Peter,

    You're right it's not there anymore - i'm sure it was there before I went
    away for Christmas (honest) but now it's gone. I've just resubmitted it
    under the title "Upgrade v2.4 to v3.0: SHOW_LIPS duplicate element in TXL"
    though I can't guarentee that it'll keep that title once Faith has edited it
    removed my spurious comments and added some facts to it.

    Sorry for the confusion.

    regards,

2162.7LLV - SHARE, you were luckyUTES09::EIJSSimon Eijs @Utrecht, 7838-2558Thu Feb 04 1993 16:0125

    Hi,

    Re .1),

    > Since the language areas are searched before the share areas, the
    > SHARE version couldn't have been executed, so I guess it would be
    > safe to delete it.

    Hmm, yes, when using the normal search order. However, the TXLO is
    compiled according to the entries in CM$APP, CM$MAF and
    CM$AUTH$LOCATIONS (the order has been mentioned here at least once).
    Now, within one application (e.g. "OA") the order in which the TXL
    compiler will search depends on the record order in CM$MAF (assuming
    that the weight (Priority) of all application areas are the same). The
    order in .0) is indeed LLV - SHARE. But in case of a SWEDISH example,
    it would be SHARE - LLV.

    If you want to make sure the TXL is compiled in the same order as the
    search logicals are defined (SHARE after LLV) change the priority of
    the CM$MAF record for "OA SHARE" from 50 to 99.

    Ciao,

    	Simon
