ALL-IN-1 3.0 when printing on a postscript queue with Print Style = PS and using the Gold E to change the print settings, on page 3 there is a page orientation field. When selecting the 'LANDSCAPE' option the document is still printed in portrait mode. My guess is that ALL-IN-1 3.0 tries to set the orientation using the DECprint param=page_orient=landscape parameter. But forgot that the created postscript file has portrait orientation set which overrules the Param qualifier. If thats right, 2 things can be done. Get the orientation option out of the print settings screen cause its useless or Adapt the posctscript file which is sent to printer so that it takes the correct orientation settings. Can someone comment/correct me on this before I spr this ? regards, Luc Verbraeken

2156.1 | It's CPS limitation | IOSG::NEWLAND | Richard Newland, IOSG, REO2-G/L2 | Tue Jan 26 1993 15:23 | 13 |
The CPS page orientation parameter is ignored for PostScript files, so it is useless to create a job with such a parameter. However, the parameter is accepted for ANSI files, so it is useful to have this on the screen for those times it is accepted. The ALL-IN-1 System Manager could edit the PS printer type and set the Page Orientation changeable field to 'N'. Then, when the PS print style is used and a user does a Gold E they will not be able to enter the 'Page orientation' field. Richard |
