2152.0. "DOCDB: EXPIRY DATE SET field" by YUPPY::DEWINTER (Chocolate?, Yeah!) Mon Jan 25 1993 17:00

    Just a short question:

    On form DOCDB:
What is the field: EXPIRY DATE SET used for? Is it used at the moment
or is it for future use? Can my customer use this field to validate
    against?

    Thanks in advance,
    Arjen

    Arjen,

    EXPIRY_DATE_PRESENT takes two values
0 - document does not have an associated expiry date set
1 - document does have an associated expiry date set

It is intended for use by X.400 Compliant User Agents so I personally
wouldn't recommend its use by a customer.

    regards,

All wishes get added to the wish list, there is no hidden meaning in
acknowledging a request from someone. All requests that dont make it into the
next version get put forward to the QFD for the version after that. The qfd
has a scientific way of deciding which requests get most 'points' and therefore
should get implemented.

As far as this request is concerned, we would probably interpret that as a
wish for the mechanism to set this attribute. Deleting expired/obsolete documents
sounds like something that should be customised on a site basis rather than
imposed on everyone.

This does not constitute a committment to anything (or a rejection to anything
for that matter) :-)
