Would some please tell me if the ESE5x solid-state disks are deemed to be suitable for SDAFs? Is there any reason for not recommending to have SDAFs put on ESE20s other than size? Thanks, Dan

Dan, The only reasons we did not explicitly recommend putting SDAF on solid state disks is the cost of the SSD, and the size of the SDAF w.r.t. the SSD. Marc BTW: In other applications, we have actually used stripe sets of SSDs to achieve peak I/O throughput. Has anyone ever done this with SDAF? |
